Drawing on Ceramics...

Marabu Porcelain Painter Pens & Plain White Ceramics

My First Creation

One of the things I had a little go of a while back was drawing onto ceramics using.  I was inspired by a trip to Homesense where I discovered these beautiful Sagaform Carafes which were crying out to be turned into people!  I bought the ceramics first and then went to Hobbycraft in search of ceramic markers.  I bought a selection of Marabu Porcelain Painter Pens and these are some of the results.  The pens are brilliant you can doodle away on the item of your choice and then simply cure the design in your oven.

After posting my samples online I was lucky enough to be contacted to create some commissioned pieces.  I created an RAF inspired carafe and illustrated a plate for a fireman retiring from the fire service (not pictured).  I definitely want to explore using these pens to doodle on things in the future.

Formby Village Market

I realise I'm still not getting the hand of this regular blogging business but please do try to put up with my lack of posts I will try harder!  I know you are all dying to find out about the craft fair after all it has been nearly two weeks so here goes...

The Craft Fair was busy but unfortunately there didn't seem to be much buying going on.  I did make a few sales and was so lucky to have such great friends, family and colleagues who came to support us.  Even though I didn't make my first million I am so glad I did it.  It was a great experience and a lot of fun.  The deadline was a good goal for making me produce lots of work.  It has made me more excited about this year and launching SewMakeSmith and all the opportunities that await me.  Now I just need to get everything listed on etsy so I can sell sell sell!
